Relationship counselling

At their best, our relationships can be sources of enormous pleasure, security and strength – but challenges are inevitable. As well as seeing individuals, I also offer relationship therapy: a weekly opportunity for couples to work through their struggles and find new, healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges.

Every couple is different, but you may be dealing with one or several of the following issues:

  • Fears that the spark has gone

  • Chronic conflict / arguments

  • Infidelity

  • Differing sex drives or other concerns around sex and intimacy

  • Struggles with conception

  • Disagreements around parenting and childcare

  • When one partner is unwell

  • Coming to terms with terminal illness

  • Adjusting to mid-life and ageing

  • Working out whether to separate

  • Managing separation

Whatever your concerns – whether there’s too much friction, or far too much silence – I believe that the only way out is through. I provide a neutral, comfortable space, where you can explore and process what’s really been going on, improve your communication, and find ways to cope with life’s unavoidable hurdles.

I welcome heterosexual and LGBTQ couples, in short- or long-term pairings. I can also support non-romantic couples (e.g. platonic friendships, work colleagues, family pairs) who wish to improve their relationships. But please note, I only have space for two adult clients in my therapy rooms: I don’t work with minors (under 18) or larger groups.

I ask for a weekly commitment, particularly for the first portion of our work together. Relationships are complex and less frequent meetings can mean it’s hard to really get into things within the timeframe. Sessions are either 50 or 90 minutes long – we’ll decide what feels best for you both in our initial assessment meeting.
