Couples therapy
At their best, our relationships can be sources of huge pleasure, security and strength – but struggles are inevitable.
Contrary to popular opinion, people don’t only decide to go for couples therapy during the final gasps of a dying relationship. Yes, it can be undertaken when two people want to work out how to separate in the best way possible. But more often, I’ve seen couples profoundly transformed by the process, who leave feeling hopeful about a different future together. It’s a significant and positive investment – an opportunity for couples to work through differences and find new, healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges together.
Every couple is unique, but you may be dealing with one or several of the following issues:
Fears that the spark has gone
Late-diagnosed neurodivergence
Chronic conflict / arguments
Recovering after infidelity
Differing sex drives or other concerns around sex and intimacy
Struggles with conception
Disagreements around parenting and childcare
When one partner is unwell
Coming to terms with terminal illness
Adjusting to mid-life and ageing
Working out whether to separate
Managing separation
Whatever your concerns – whether there’s too much friction, or far too much silence – I believe that the only way out is through.
I provide a neutral, comfortable space, where you can explore and process what’s really been going on, improve your communication, and find ways to cope with life’s unavoidable hurdles. You can read more about me here.
I welcome heterosexual and LGBTQIA+ couples, in short- or long-term pairings. I can also support non-romantic couples (e.g. platonic friendships, work colleagues, family pairs) who wish to improve their relationship. Please note, I only have space for two adult clients: I don’t work with minors (under 18) or larger groups.
Sessions are either 50 or 90 minutes long – we’ll decide what feels best for you both in our initial assessment meeting.
In person? Or online?
While I used to believe that face-to-face therapy was the only option, working online for many months during Covid proved to me that virtual sessions can be extremely powerful.
I offer online relationship counselling as I know it can be difficult enough to find a time when both partners can meet, without factoring in the additional complexity of travel time.
Online sessions mean that couples can experience the benefits of relationship therapy without having to take several hours out of their busy schedules to do so – and of course it means that I am able to work with couples all over the world.
What is intensive couples therapy?
For couples who aren’t able to find a workable time to attend weekly sessions, or who prefer to hit the ground running, I offer intensive couples therapy. This takes place in Honor Oak Park over two consecutive Fridays, between 9:30am and 5pm. Please click the button to find out whether this immersive way of working may be better for you both.
Fees for weekly couples therapy
In person or online: £110 (50 mins) or £140 (90 mins)
I also offer pre-paid blocks of 90 minute sessions with a discount - five for £675, and ten for £1300
Ok, we’re interested… Now what?
The first step is to get in touch, using the form below. We’ll need to find a time that we can all meet each week, for a couple of months at least. Only once we know that there is a doable time slot for ongoing work will we book in for our first assessment session – it would be very disappointing to have a really positive first meeting and then realise we can’t find a way to carry on working together.
There’s usually a lot of ground to cover in the assessment, so I recommend allowing 90 minutes for this. If, after the assessment, we all feel there is a good ‘fit’ and decide to continue working together, then we will meet weekly going forward.

If you are interested in therapy with me, please fill in the secure form and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. It’s really helpful for me if you can write a couple of sentences about you (and your partner, if you are seeking couples therapy) and why you are seeking therapy.
